Car parking changes - Emergency Centre build on Rotherham Hospital site

27 Feb 2015 14:23:38

The Emergency Centre will be the first in the country to provide patients with responsive and high quality services under one roof when they need emergency or urgent NHS care. The building works for this innovative project will commence at the Rotherham Hospital site on Monday 16 March and we would like to inform our patients and visitors that there will be changes to car parking facilities in order to facilitate the build. Additionally we suggest that people allow extra time when visiting the hospital in order to familiarise themselves with new car parking facilities.

Certain car parks will be closed and alternative car parking arrangements on the hospital site will be put in place until completion in the Spring of 2017 - we will endeavour to keep this disruption level to a minimum.

We would like to thank the public in advance for their support and cooperation whilst work is undertaken.

A multiagency project delivered by NHS Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and Care UK, the centre will be staffed by highly skilled and trained nurses and doctors experienced in assessing and treating patients’ needs, providing the right care, first time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

As part of the plans the services that are currently provided by the Walk-in Centre will move to the new centre. The Walk-in Centre will maintain its current service until the opening of the Emergency Centre, with other health services continuing to be provided at Rotherham Community Health Centre in the future.

If you have any further queries about the Emergency Centre please email: emergencycentreenquiries@rothgen.nhs.uk

Patients are reminded to choose the right care for their symptoms - advice and/or medicines for common illnesses can be given without having to make an appointment with the local doctor by using the ‘Pharmacy First’ scheme in Rotherham. Please don't forget, if it’s not an emergency don’t go to A&E - consider calling NHS 111.
