Following a competitive tender process The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) has appointed ISS Healthcare to deliver an enhanced catering services to patients, staff and visitors at Rotherham Hospital. The new contract starts in April 2015.
ISS Healthcare currently provides meals to inpatients at Rotherham Hospital and serves food in the hospital’s Rooftop Restaurant, which is popular with visitors as well as patients and staff.
The new contract will modernise the way that meals are delivered and served on wards. Other new, innovative features include an electronic meal ordering system on the wards with options for people with dietary needs such as vegetarians or those with coeliac disease, ward hostesses to provide a drinks service and deliver mealtime services, a new hydration trolley providing a range of hot drinks and chilled water throughout the day and an enhanced breakfast menu. Hot meals will be available 24/7 for patients and staff.

In addition, the Trust and ISS will be introducing a Starbucks coffee house within the Rooftop Restaurant for the use of all our visitors.

ISS Healthcare was the first NHS catering contractor to be awarded accreditation from the coveted Soil Association’s Food for Life scheme. Their bronze accreditation was awarded for providing high quality, responsibly sourced, fresh food. The organisation has ambitions to achieve a gold standard within the first twelve months of the new contract.
