What we do

We quality control the education and assessment of medical students and doctors in training and facilitate the continuing professional development of career grade staff.

We provide an induction to all new junior doctors in the hospital and ensure they are competent to practise. Regular reviews are held to assess how doctors are progressing, and where problems are identified, structured training programmes and remedial support can be tailored to meet the needs of the individual doctor.

Visit our new website for the latest on our programmes, our staff and our courses and events.

Dr Alison Cooper is the Director of Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) and fulfils the role of Postgraduate Dean’s deputy in the Trust. She chairs the Medical Education Committee, which makes decisions on medical education initiatives within the Trust.
