The graphic highlights how busy Rotherham’s Urgent and Emergency Care Centre was in 2019.

The team treated around 103,000 people in 2019 – that’s more than eight times the capacity of the New York Stadium in Rotherham.

We’ve broken the numbers down to show the various injuries and patients that attended in 2019, as well as how they came to the department, to highlight the sheer amount of work that goes into running the emergency services in The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. And we’ll be doing the same if not more in the year ahead.

George Briggs, Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are currently experiencing the busiest time of the year across the whole Trust and this is evident in the UECC, where our teams face challenging circumstances every day. It is fitting that these data are released at this time of year to highlight the level of work that is involved and the dedication of the people who ensure the UECC is there for those who need it most.”
