Outbreak of winter vomiting virus

11 Nov 2016 17:00:17

The hospital is currently experiencing an outbreak of a winter vomiting virus. The outbreak is limited to a small number of areas at present.

If you are considering visiting someone in hospital and have either had symptoms or been in contact with someone who has had recently, please ensure that you have been clear of it for at least 48 hours before visiting. The best prevention for diarrhoea and vomiting is regular hand washing using soap and running water.

While visiting, please ensure that you use the hand gel provided to minimise the spread of germs. We are asking that visiting in affected areas is limited to one close family member only.
