Rotherham’s Allied health professionals (AHPs) have been named
‘Northern Flagbearers’ for this year’s national AHP's Day.
Being given the crown of flagbearers by the original instigators
of AHP's Day means that the health and Social care sectors will be looking to
Rotherham as leaders in championing and celebrating the valued work of the
AHPs. In our Trust we have 9 of the 14 AHP careers represented.
Through activities on the 14th, AHP's will
demonstrate their impact on patient care and promote opportunities for people
from all walks of life to consider a healthcare career.
In Rotherham the AHP team,
including colleagues from the areas of Dietetics, Podiatry, Radiography, Speech
and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Orthotics, and
Orthoptics will host events at Rotherham Hospital in the morning and they have
partnered with University Centre Rotherham to host a careers focused event in
At each event the team will have
a range of interactive stands, posters, films, presentations and fun activities
for attendees to take part in. Rotherham’s AHPs and local University
representatives will be on hand to give information and to answer questions
about AHP roles and the varied career pathways.
You can support our AHPs on
social media by using #AHPsDay #AHP #AHPCareers and popping in to the planned
events to find out more about your AHP Colleagues o rjust to show your support.
