you love tea, cakes and fundraising – then the Rotherham Hospital and Community
Charity has the perfect challenge to help you celebrate the 71st
anniversary of the NHS.
charity is teaming up with colleagues from The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust
to host an NHS Big Tea Party on Friday 5 July, 1 – 3pm, in the hospital’s
Rooftop Restaurant. The event aims to toast the NHS and our colleagues, and
to inspire similar tea parties across the town to showcase the pride we all
share in our National Health Service.
Barry Mellor, Chair of the Charitable Funds Committee, said: “We know the care the NHS provides has touched the lives of millions of people. Hosting an NHS Big Tea Party is a great opportunity to show your gratitude by getting together with colleagues, neighbours, school friends, local clubs or groups to say ‘thank you’ and to raise some money.
“We’d love to see as many people as possible attend our own NHS Big Tea Party in July. We also hope people across Rotherham, whether at school, work or at home, will feel inspired to bake some goodies and put the kettle on to host their own celebrations.”
the money raised at NHS Tea Party events will be split equally between the Rotherham Hospital and
Community Charity and NHS Charities Together. These charities raise vital
funds above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide, touching lives and
making a huge difference to millions of people when they are at their most
recent years NHS charities have funded major capital projects, pioneering research
and medical equipment in hospitals, helping patients access the best possible
care when they need it most.
