Join the Rush to Walk Rotherham Fun Walk supporting Rotherham Hospital Charity and Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.
Rush to Walk was founded by Gillian Headon and Lyn Wilson (bosom buddies) in memory of Sandra Rush who died of breast cancer in 2002. Over the years, Rush to Walk have raised an astonishing £103,600 and every penny of this goes to local charities and stays in the local community.
The day consists of a variety of walks starting from Wentworth, including a 3 or 4 and half mile pushchair friendly walk, a 7 mile walk and a 12 mile walk. These will either be led or self-guided with detailed instructions.
There’s no need to decide which distance to tackle now, which ever you choose, you will have a fun day out and be able to appreciate the wealth of countryside we have around Wentworth and Rotherham. We hope that you will be able to join us on this years’ fun filled walk which will be taking place on Sunday 3rd May 2015 from Wentworth Woodhouse.
The funds raised this year will be divided between local charities including:
• Rotherham Hospital Charity
• Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice
• Other small charities within our local community
Funds raised so far have helped to buy a flexible ureteroscope for Rotherham Hospital’s Urology Department, a family room at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and helped to create a breast awareness corner named ‘Sandra’s Corner’ in Rotherham Hospital’s Breast Screening Chatham Suite and so much more!
