Occupational Therapists (OTs) work with people who have physical, mental and/or social problems, either from birth or as a result of accident, illness or ageing. We want to help our patients achieve as much as they can for themselves.
Our service includes General and Specialist Medicine, Health Care for Older People, Orthopaedics, General and Specialist Surgery, Rheumatology and Neurology.
We have an outreach service for patients who attend the Day Hospital in Health Care for Older People. Most of our Occupational Therapists work with inpatients at Rotherham Hospital.
Inpatient Occupational Therapy
We cover all adult wards at Rotherham Hospital including the Stroke Unit and Oakwood Centre for Rehabilitation Medicine. We help prepare patients for and facilitate a safe discharge from the hospital back to the community.
Outpatient Occupational Therapy
This includes hand rehabilitation provided at Rotherham Hospital and neuro-rehabilitation at the Park Rehabilitation Centre on Badsley Moor Lane.
