Careers Programmes and Work Experience

Please note due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated risks, our wards and departments are currently unable to take work experience requests. We ask you please do not contact placement areas until further notice. This will be lifted when government guidance allows. Please keep returning to tohis website for further updates.

Welcome to the Work Experience page for The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. On this page, you can view and apply for all the work experience placements we currently offer.

The purpose of work experience is either to help you understand what it is like to work in an area, or prepare for a university application.

We offer short work experience placements where you will spend time observing the work of the department and those who work there.

Once you are sure which area you would like to experience, please contact that area directly using the details provided. The contact in that area will provide you with an application (so that we can check that you will get the experience you are looking for), and communicate with you to make arrangements for your placement.

If you are over 18, you will need to complete a ‘volunteer’ DBS check ahead of your placement. This is free and can be accessed here Please ensure that you do tick ‘volunteer’ to ensure you are not charged.

Please note that the placement areas listed here are the only ones currently available, we regret that placements cannot be arranged on an ‘ad-hoc’ basis for any applicant.
