Personal Statement:

Steve qualified as an Orthotist in 1986 with an HDipOPTEC from Paddington College, London. Having initially worked within the private sector, he worked briefly as a self-employed practitioner prior to establishing and developing an in-house service at Rotherham. Steve has since completed Post-Graduate Diplomas in Lower Limb Biomechanics (1996) and Clinical Gait Analysis (1998) at Strathclyde University, and gained an MSc in Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation Technology (2003) at the University of Dundee. Steve also holds an Executive Diploma in Management.

Specialist areas of interest are lower limb orthopaedic biomechanics, paediatric neurology and posture control systems. Steve is currently researching the impact of posture control foot orthoses on the treatment of a range of long-term chronic musculo-skeletal postural distortions as a consequence of hyper-pronation. He is also an external examiner and training officer for the University of Salford and is currently a visiting part-time lecturer at the University lecturing foot & ankle biomechanics and foot pathologies to undergraduates.

Steve is a member of both the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists and also the Chartered Management Institute. He is an affiliated member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and is registered with the Health Professions Council.
