Physio team put wheels in motion for local man

17 May 2012 16:12:41

A team of Rotherham health workers has recently completed a sponsored bike ride in aid of a local man.

Nine members of the physiotherapy team from Rotherham’s Park Rehabilitation Centre (PRC), part of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT), completed a total of 162 miles to raise a total of £1200 for a local man in need of support.

The local man, Mr Gary Scott, was in desperate need of some new equipment for his home and a cheque for the money raised was presented to him at one of his recent appointments at PRC.

The TRFT team went over and above the call of duty and used their own time to organise the bike-ride, which took place at Rother Valley Country Park in March.

Sarah Bittles-Kincaid, a member of the physio team and bike ride organiser, commented: “The bike ride was a huge success and all went as planned apart from the odd few aches and pains!

“The money came as a nice surprise for Gary and I would like to thank Victoria Wright, Emma Clarke, Tess Pickering, Laura Wilson, Louise Bearder, Sophie Claire, Kayleigh Wright and Ailsa Carmichael for giving up their time to raise the funds.”
