The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) has consistently excelled in the delivery of its cancer waiting times and was ranked as top performing Trust nationally for the duration of 2011/12. Following the implementation of the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and the introduction of the Contact Centre, cancer waiting times were reviewed in order to ensure that the Trust’s consistent high standards were continuing to being met. The Trust did identify a small number of patients who encountered a delay in the waiting time target, but we must stress that this was in relation to initial appointments and not relating to those patients awaiting treatment.
