In support of National Obesity Awareness week (13 – 19 January 2014), Rotherham Obesity Framework services are hosting an Obesity Awareness event in Rotherham Hospital’s main entrance on Friday 17 January, 10am – 2pm. As part of the event, Staff from The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and partner organisations will be cycling on a ‘Smoothy Bike’, encouraging healthy eating and fitness for the fight against obesity.
The Rotherham Institute for Obesity (RIO) and Reshape Rotherham (the Trust’s free, local, weight management service) will be present at the event to provide information about RIO and the Reshape Rotherham Programme, and services provided by other local organisations such as DC Leisure. As part of the awareness week, the ‘Smoothy Bike’ will also be visiting various venues around Rotherham.
