The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust recently welcomed a high-profile MP to one of its state of the art patient facilities.
Sarah Champion MP for Rotherham arranged for The Rt Honourable Andrew Burnham MP, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Health, to visit BreathingSpace on Badsley Moor Lane to take a tour of the services provided there.
The BreathingSpace facility, which comes under the area of Ms Champion’s constituency, was part funded by The Coalfields Regeneration Trust and is home to a range of internationally recognised respiratory services. The centre provides rehabilitation and respite for Rotherham patients on an in-patient and out-patient basis.
The Trust’s interim Chief Executive, Louise Barnett and local MP for Wentworth and Dearne, John Healey, also accompanied Ms Champion and Mr Burnham on the visit and took pride in showing them examples of the 24 hour, high level care provided at BreathingSpace.
Gail Miles, Clinical lead for BreathingSpace, commented: “It was a pleasure to show Mr Burnham, Mr Healey and Ms Champion around our facility; staff and patients were delighted to meet our visitors.
“The visit was a great opportunity to showcase the work our specialised respiratory experts do to help patients manage and improve their condition.
