The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is hosting a joint event with Voluntary Action Rotherham (VAR) to promote volunteering opportunities across Rotherham. The event will take place on Thursday 10th April from 10.00 – 3.00pm in Community Corner in the main entrance of Rotherham Hospital.
The Trust’s Volunteering Service and VAR will be joined at the event by other members of the local voluntary sector who share a focus on promoting health and wellbeing in the town.
Amongst the organisations and groups attending are:
- British Red Cross
- Guide Dogs
- Royal Voluntary Service
- Alzheimer’s Society
- Age UK
- MHA Care Homes
- Dearne Valley Green Heart
- Yorkshire Cricket Board
- Rotherham District Scouts
- British Heart Foundation
The event will give local people the opportunity to find out more about supporting patients, or other members of the community, in voluntary roles such as befriending. The organisations involved are also keen to promote voluntary opportunities which help encourage active or outdoor lifestyles to further support health and wellbeing.
If you have any queries or would like further information about the event please contact Joanne Farey, Voluntary Services Coordinator on 01709 424329
