The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of two new executive directors; Simon Sheppard, as Director of Finance and
Chris Holt, as Chief Operating Officer.

Simon Sheppard, will join the Trust in November 2014 from the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust where he is currently Acting Director of Finance and prior to that was Deputy Director of Finance and Procurement.
Simon has almost 20 years’ experience at a senior level in large acute teaching hospitals, such as Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. He says: “I am thrilled to be taking up this post in Rotherham. I strongly believe that first rate patient care can be delivered by providing the right enablers to help improve the health and wellbeing of the local population which we serve.”
Chris Holt, will join the Trust in October 2014 from Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust where he has worked since 2011 with responsibility for ensuring the safe and effective day-to-day operational performance of the organisation.

With experience from the private sector and also having worked across both primary and secondary care in England and Scotland, Chris is passionate about improving hospital experience and care for patients. He says: “I am proud to place patients’ needs at the heart of decision making and look forward to working closely with patients, staff and other local partners to ensure that we provide excellent services and a safe and first class experience for all.”

Both roles have been appointed following a rigorous recruitment campaign. Throughout the process, the Trust Board was clear that it was looking for highly motivated and driven individuals who would bring the right skills and experience to the organisation at this critical time.

Louise Barnett, Chief Executive, said: "I am delighted with the decision of the appointments panel and look forward to working with both Chris and Simon later in the year.

“I am confident that they each have the skills and experience to support the Trust in delivering quality services for the population of Rotherham and I look forward to welcoming them to the Trust and to Rotherham.”
