Counselling services

Counselling provides a safe space for you to seek help. 

Counselling is a chance to have a better understanding of the issues you are facing and learn news ways to cope. 

Patients may need counselling for lots of reasons, including:

  • losing a pregnancy through miscarriage, stillbirth or termination (abortion)
  • difficulties during pregnancy, labour and postnatal period
  • maternal mental health
  • potential foetal abnormalities
  • substance misuse
  • social issues
  • early pregnancy and fertility problems
  • anxiety before conception
  • anxiety before or after surgery
  • menopause
  • sexual assault or abuse
  • anxiety before or after procedures

 

 

 

 

Patients are referred to to our counselling service by healthcare professionals. Please speak to your midwife, health visitor or GP for more information about being referred to a counselling service.
