Safe staffing levels

We are currently developing a new website for The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. Safe staffing level reports for 2023 are available to view on the beta version of the new website.

All hospitals are required to publish information about the number of nursing and midwifery staff working on each ward, or in each community team, together with the percentage of shifts meeting the staffing plan.

This initiative is part of the NHS response to the Francis report which called for greater openness and transparency in the health service.

Information about staffing levels will be published monthly. Full details will be reported to the public meetings of our Board of Directors.

We are displaying information on staffing boards for patients and visitors in all our wards that show who is in charge of the ward, the numbers of staff we planned to have on duty and the actual number on duty. This information is broken down to record numbers of registered nurses and numbers of healthcare support workers.
