We have an open referral system. Parents can refer their own child but for school age children we recommend you asking schools to refer so we can obtain more detailed information about how their difficulty is impacting in school and which other practitioners/services are involved.

Children can be referred by phoning 01709 423230 or 423229, or using the referral forms below:

Our service operates in specialist teams and therefore all referrals are first reviewed to ensure that children can be seen by the most appropriate part of the service. If we do not receive enough information to make this decision we will write to the referrer to request more information. A child will be seen sooner if as much detailed information is provided as possible.

    First appointments

    Initial appointments may be:

    • Contact by telephone
    • In an assessment clinic
    • An appointment in school (mainstream schools and specialist provisions)

The type of appointment will depend on which team you are being seen by.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like any further information or advice.
