How to make a donation

Thank you for all your donations – we really do appreciate it!

There are several ways you can donate.

Online at JustGiving

Donate via the JustGiving website at The hospital will receive the donation and we will automatically add Gift Aid if you tick that you are eligible. You can also donate directly to the Purple Butterfly Appeal via Just Giving at

By cash and cheque

Cash donations can be given directly to the Charity Office, based at Rotherham Hospital, Communications Team, D Level. You will be given a receipt acknowledging your donation and asked to provide your address and contact details so we can send you a ‘thank you’ letter. Please don’t send cash through the post.

Cheque’s should be made payable to ‘Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity’ and send to the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, Communications Team Office, D Level, Moorgate Road, Rotherham, S60 2UD.

Leave a legacy

Patients and their relatives often show their appreciation for the care they have received at their local hospital by choosing to make a bequest in their Will.

Remember a loved one at their funeral

One way to celebrate the life of a loved one is to ask your family and friends to make a donation at their funeral service. People often choose to make a donation in lieu of flowers and we are really grateful for your support during such an emotional time.

Funeral directors can help you arrange this, you can donate directly to the Charity Office in person or by providing a cheque. To help you do this, we can also provide you with charity donation envelopes in which donators can leave their name and contact details for us to acknowledge and send a ‘thank you’ letter.

Gift Aid – making your donation go further

Did you know that if you are a UK tax payer, we can claim back an additional 25p for every £1 you donate? This means a lot to the charity as we can ensure all the money you raise goes even further. You simply need to tick the Gift Aid declaration on the back of the cash envelope or receipt for us to claim the money. Please return to Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, Rotherham Hospital, Charity Office, Communications Team office, D Level, Moorgate Road, Rotherham, S60 2UD.
