The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is looking for service users to join its Public Panel, to offer views on patient experience and help make services work better for local people.

Made up of patients, carers and the general public, the Public Panel will advise the Trust of their lived experience of hospital and community services.

The panel will address a range of topics, including the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, Children’s Services, waiting lists and management of long-term conditions.

There are a number of ways for panel members to get involved, such as regular meetings (currently taking place online only), surveys and patient information reviews.

Our aim is for the panel to represent the whole patient community. People of any age, race, religion, gender and background are encouraged to get involved.

Actively listening to patient feedback allows us to review the way we offer services and communicate with patients. Hearing first hand experiences means we can learn and adapt for the future.

Deputy Chief Executive at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, Michael Wright, said: “Engaging with our patients is vitally important for us to be able to provide the best possible care for our community. Hearing first-hand experiences will allow us to understand the needs of patients, ensuring we are communicating effectively and offering the most appropriate services to support patients and carers.”

If you are, or have been, a patient or carer that has used the services of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, and would like the opportunity to have your ideas and constructive feedback heard, please contact rotherham.patientengagement@nhs.net.

See the upcoming events listed below. We would love to hear from you. If you have been affected by any of these topics, please get in touch.
