The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust are calling on patients, carers and colleagues to nominate their healthcare heroes for recognition in The Trust’s 2022 Proud Awards.

The Proud Awards are an opportunity to recognise the vital work that goes on within the Trust, whether that is on the front line or behind the scenes, to ensure patients receive the best care possible.

Throughout the response to the Covid-19 pandemic, colleagues in the hospital and community settings have worked hard to keep services going and to ensure the people of Rotherham continue to be cared for.

The Public Recognition Award gives members of the public the chance to nominate the healthcare professionals who have made a real difference by going the extra mile in the care for them or their loved ones.

Michael Wright, Deputy Chief Executive of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We are extremely proud of our colleagues for continually striving to provide the best possible care for patients. Our teams have worked exceptionally hard throughout the response to Covid-19 and demonstrate compassion and resilience each and every day.

Whether colleagues are working in the hospital, visiting patients in their homes, or providing care at one of our community facilities, the work they do can have an immense impact on patients’ lives. I urge patients and their loved ones to submit nominations so we can celebrate our colleagues’ achievements.

We have held the awards ceremony virtually for the last two years, but, Covid permitting, we are hoping to be able to hold the event in person this year, subject to any restrictions that may be in place.”

The winner of the Public Recognition Award in 2021 was Anaesthetics and Theatres Matron, John Brammer.

The Trust’s colleagues, eligible to be nominated for awards, deliver services at Rotherham Hospital, Rotherham Community Health Centre, BreathingSpace, Park Rehabilitation Centre and at health centres across the borough, and includes those working in people’s own homes and communities, such as school nurses and district nurses.
