The Trust’s Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics is hosting a conference in May 2022 called ‘Orthopaedics for primary care’.

The free one-day course will run for four days from 9-12 May, 2022, and will cover the diagnosis and management of common orthopaedic conditions including:

  • Specific for GPs and Physiotherapists
  • Examination skills
  • MSK injection techniques
  • Lectures in trauma and sporting injuries
  • Lectures given by consultant orthopaedic surgeons
  • Lunch and refreshments during the day

This is a fully subsidised course sponsored by orthopaedic industries and we are in the process of also gaining CPD accreditation.

Mr Nikhil Nanavati, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting our first ‘Orthopaedics for Primary Care’ event.

“This course will be more than just PowerPoint presentations. We’re aiming to keep things really interactive so that our audience can participate and get some hands-on experience of examination and injection techniques to take back to their practice. We have one of the best orthopaedic departments in the country and we hope that people will take away lots of new tips, tricks and ideas from the course.

“We’re also really looking forward to developing existing and new relationships with doctors and physiotherapists in the wider community so that they can start to feel at ease with seeking advice from our really friendly and approachable unit. We’re excited to welcome the MSK community.”

The one-day course will be running for consecutive days between 9-12 May, 2022, at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust’s Woodside Building, Moorgate Road, Rotherham, S60 2UD.

We are limited to 44 delegates per day and confirmation will be issued on a first come first serve basis.
