The
Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust’s Maternity Services remain committed to
facilitating support for pregnant women throughout their pregnancy and
childbirth.
We
recognise the value of the support of a partner, relative or friend for
pregnant women when accessing maternity care services. The
Maternity Team have carried out risk assessments in all areas and we continue
to review these in line with national guidelines.
We
continue to welcome one support partner at all antenatal appointments, into
Triage and ANDU for assessments, Labour Ward for induction of labour and
onto Wharncliffe Ward.
We continue to welcome up to two support partners onto Labour Ward to support women during
labour and birth. Both support partners will need to wear a face mask during
their time on Labour Ward and regularly wash / sanitise
their hands with the washing facilities/hand gels provided. Support partners
should not attend if they have symptoms of Covid-19 or are isolating.
Wharncliffe Ward
visiting times are as follows:
- ONE named birthing partner permitted between
the hours of 11am-8pm. This is inclusive for all women whether you are still
pregnant or have had your baby. This named visitor must remain the same
throughout and not be swapped or changed.
- NO children are permitted onto the
ward.
- Masks are still to be worn over the
nose and mouth throughout the visit whilst on Wharncliffe Ward.
We would
like to thank all women and families using TRFT Maternity and Gynaecology
Services for their ongoing support and patience during these unprecedented
times.
