This advice and advocacy service is available on Thursday mornings at the hospital and offers people living with cancer, who live or receive treatment in Rotherham, free advice about benefit entitlements.
This includes advice to patients, their carers and their family members. The advice given is not just initial advice and assistance but also ongoing follow up and support, as your condition changes and as different treatments are undergone, your benefit entitlement may also change.
We can help you with:
- Applying for benefits including completing application forms
- Means tested benefit calculations
- Challenging benefits decisions and tribunal representation
- Accessing Macmillan and other charitable grants
- Applying for blue badges
- Bereavement benefits.
The service is funded by Macmillan support and delivered by RBT, Welfare Rights & Money Advice Service through a contract between BT and the Rotherham NHS. Appointments are also available on other days at Riverside House on Main Street in the town centre.
