The Falls and Fracture Prevention service provides a coordinated approach to falls and fracture prevention, management and treatment in Rotherham.
The service aims to reduce the year-on-year increase in falls that result in hospital admissions and serious injury, in particular, hip fractures (fractured neck of femur).
What we do
The Falls and Fracture Service is delivered through a specialist multi-disciplinary triage team comprising therapists, nurses, support workers and administrators.
People identified as being at high risk of falls, or those who have recently fallen and had a non-hip fracture, will be assessed and, where appropriate, offered bone active therapy and access to a 12-week enabling falls education and exercise programme, either in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis.
People with complex needs who require close clinical supervision during their rehabilitation will be referred to the Moorgate Assessment & Rehabilitation Centre at Rotherham Hospital.
This service is available Monday to Friday, except bank holidays.
