Guidance for researchers
All research studies conducted with NHS staff and/or patients as participants require registration with and acknowledgment by The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust Research and Development Department.
Where the Health Research Authority requires formal confirmation of 'Capacity and Capability' by participating NHS organisations in England, the Research and Development Department will facilitate this.
We conduct research studies of various types e.g. observational, randomised controlled trials, drug studies, device studies funded and sponsored by both commercial companies (pharmaceutical companies) and non-commercial institutions (NHS Trusts and universities). We focus on National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio research, working with the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Research Network, but also support locally funded and student research. We have approximately 70 actively recruiting studies at any one time.
Research into Coronavirus (COVID-19)
We are currently running a trial looking into treatment options for coronavirus (COVID-19).
It is important that we do all we can to help prevent this situation from happening again, and are asking for patients with confirmed COVID-19, who are currently being cared for at Rotherham Hospital, to take part in this trial.
The trial seeks to research the outcomes of a number of different treatment options.
If this is something you, or a loved one, would be interested to take part in, please speak with the doctor treating you or your family member.
We will assess your eligibility for taking part in the trial.
Visit the Recovery Trial website for more information.
