Dementia Appeal
Help us raise £250,000 to improve the quality of life for patients living with dementia in our community.
We understand that being admitted to hospital can be an uncertain time for patients affected by dementia and their families. That’s why we are so passionate about making lasting changes to our hospital to make their experience better.
Dementia affects thousands of people in our community, and as this number continues to rise, the demand for specialised care has never been greater.

What will the Dementia Appeal fund?
Sometimes those living with dementia forget our names, but they will never forget how they were made to feel. That’s why we are raising an ambitious £250,000 to transform multiple wards at Rotherham Hospital into warm, welcoming, dementia-friendly spaces. Here's what we're working to create:
- a dementia-style café, games area and a garden-inspired potting shed
- quiet rooms for calm, therapeutic activities
- upgraded lighting and flooring to reduce confusion and promote safety
- rest areas for loved ones and reclining chairs for carers
- dementia-friendly clocks and bays
- RITA systems (Reminiscence Interactive Therapy Activities) to bring joy, spark memories and support meaningful connection.
With your help, we can reach our ambitious goal of £250,000. Every donation, big and small, will bring us one step closer to improving the quality of life for patients living with dementia.
The future of dementia care at Rotherham
By enhancing our facilities and investing in equipment, we will create an environment that promotes independence, comfort, and well-being for our most vulnerable patients.
