Community Midwifery Services

Along with our Continuity of Carer teams we have traditional Community Midwifery teams who work across the Rotherham borough.

When you find out you are pregnant, a Community Midwife will take responsibility for your care and will be your named contact throughout your pregnancy and postnatal period, usually up to 14 days after you give birth.

Please be aware our Community Midwives work in teams, therefore other members of the team may contribute to providing your care.

Our Community Midwives work collaboratively with other community services, such as GPs, Community Mental Health Team and 0-19 service (Health Visitors).

We also have specialist Vulnerability Midwives who provide care in the community for women and families who need additional support.

Your Named Midwife is your first point of contact for any questions or enquiries.  The Community Midwifery service is available from 8.30am to 16.30pm, Monday to Friday and can be reached on 01709 423729.

Outside of these times, we operate an on-call service for planned Homebirths.

For all other concerns about yourself or your pregnancy/baby, you can call our Maternity Triage team on 01709 427700 (24/7)
