Campervans and glamping tents will make way for a host of fairground rides, inflatables, refreshment stalls, a live cinema and family friendly activities on Sunday 9 July 2023, between 11am and 4pm, when Hooton Lodge Farm will host their Afternoon Tea Party and Family Fun Day.
The flagship event will be the second hosted by Hooton Lodge Farm since they nominated Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity as their ‘charity of the year.’
Charlotte Johnson, who runs Hooton Lodge Farm with partner Charlie Schofield, said: “We are thrilled to announce that we are supporting Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity this season. The NHS is close to all the team’s hearts so choosing them as our new charity of the year was easy.
“We know how to host a good party and can’t wait to welcome everyone to our site to celebrate the NHS’ 75th birthday in style. We aim to raise £10,000 for the charity this year so hopefully families from across South Yorkshire will join us for an incredible fun-filled day.”
As NHS Big Tea celebrations take place across the country to mark the NHS’ milestone birthday, Hooton Lodge will be offering partygoers the opportunity to tuck into an afternoon tea. The tea party costs £12.45 for adults and £6.96 for children (up to the age of 12.) Booking for the tea party is essential.
As the sun starts to dip, the venue will be transformed into an outdoor cinema with Dirty Dancing on offer for classic rom-com fans. The charity will receive £1 from the sale of all cinema tickets.
Rachael Dawes, Head of Fundraising at Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, added: “Hooton Lodge Farm is an incredible, scenic location in the heart of South Yorkshire so we are delighted Charlotte’s team at Hooton Lodge are hosting an event in aid of our charity.
“We are proud they have nominated us as their charity of the year and can’t wait to see the campsite full of people celebrating the NHS’ 75th birthday together. Please bring your family and friends and help us raise as much as possible for the NHS. Every penny raised will help us to do more for the patients we care for from Rotherham and beyond.”
Businesses and community groups can also get involved by hosting a stall at the event. The £25 fee for stalls will be donated to the charity.
There will be plenty of parking at the Hooton Lodge site too, costing just £2 per car. All the funds raised through parking will also help to boost Hooton’s fundraising pot.
Hooton Lodge Farm has a host of amazing events planned to support the charity during the 2023 season. The events schedule can be found online at www.hootonlodge.co.uk, where you can also book your afternoon tea and tickets to see Dirty Dancing. The rest of the day’s activities are free to enjoy.
