Rockingham Orthopaedic Elective Ward
Rockingham Ward at Rotherham Hospital is used solely for patients having planned/elective orthopaedic surgery, which consists of joint replacement. The ward is a 28 bed unit and our focus is to ensure that all of our patients have an excellent patient experience.
The average length of stay on Rockingham Ward is between three and five days, and the team will endeavour to get patients home as quickly and safely as possible.
Patients that are undergoing a total hip replacement or a total knee replacement will benefit from attending our pre-op Hip and Knee School. If you have an operation date but have not yet had an invitation to the Hip and Knee School please telephone the ward on the number below to be added to the next available slot.
There is a dedicated team of Allied Health Professionals that not only deliver excellent patient care, but also have a desire to go the extra mile in order to make each patient's stay in hospital a pleasant experience.
Rockingham Ward is located on B Level, in the Moorgate Wing. This is particularly convenient for family members who may be collecting relatives on discharge, as there is a pick up parking space directly outside.
If you have any ward specific enquiries, please contact Rockingham Ward on 01709 424462.
The elective orthopaedic ward is now open following a short period of closure to support the non-elective provision within the hospital.
