Every ticket purchased, step taken and pound raised helps us to enhance patient care, fund vital projects and make a real difference to those in our community.

Lake District 8 Peaks

Date: Saturday 27 September 2025
Location: Great Langdale, Ambleside

Registration fee: £40 (non refundable)
Fundraising target: £230 minimum sponsorship 
Details: Could you take on one of the Lake District's toughest challenges in 2025? This epic hike covers 15 miles of stunning panoramic views. You’ll tackle some of England’s most challenging peaks, including the highest – Scafell Pike, all for a fantastic cause!  

We work with the experts at Elite Adventures to guide this incredible challenge. This includes their team of certified mountain leaders to guide you on this unforgettable journey. 

 

How to sign up: Book and pay for your place on the Elite Adventures website. Please note: Select 'Option 3 - Mixed fundraising: £40 reg fee paid online & at least £230 charity sponsorship.' Select 'Rotherham Hospital & Community Charity' from the dropdown on the charity section.

Sheffield 10K

Details: Are you ready to take on an unforgettable challenge? We’ve secured 10 exclusive charity places for the Sheffield 10K — and we want you to join our team! This iconic city race promises an electric atmosphere, stunning route and the unbeatable feeling of crossing the finish line knowing you’ve made a difference. By running for Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, you’ll help us raise vital funds to enhance patient care and support our hospital’s most impactful projects — from transforming hospital spaces to funding life-changing equipment.

Autumn Memory Walk

Date: Sunday 19 October 2025

Entry fee: Early-bird entry fee £12 per adult, £8 per child under 15 (includes t-shirt, medal and sponsorship pack)

Details: Join us for a brand-new event, the Autumn Memory Walk – as we come together to walk in love and remembrance. Taking place in the scenic surroundings of Manvers Lake, this meaningful walk offers you the chance to remember and celebrate the lives of those you have loved and lost. Whether you're walking in memory of a family member, friend or colleague, we hope it will be a heartfelt way to share your memories.

We're proud to be organising the event in partnership with Barnsley Hospital Charity and Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity.

All the funds you raise for us will support our Dementia Appeal, helping to enhance care for people living with dementia in Rotherham.

Charity Festive Fair

Date: Saturday 8 November 2025

Time: 10am to 4pm

Details: Get ready to kick off the festive season in style! Our Charity Festive Fair is bringing together a fantastic selection of stalls, from handmade crafts and seasonal gifts to delicious treats and stocking fillers – all under one roof.

Come along for:

  • unique gifts you won’t find on the high street
  • tasty festive food and drink
  • a warm, festive atmosphere perfect for all the family

Every penny raised will help support our Dementia Appeal. Whether you’re shopping for loved ones or just soaking up the Christmas cheer, we’d love to see you there.

Rotherham Polar Plunge

Date: Saturday 22 November 2025
Time: From 10am
Location: Manvers Lake, Wath-Upon-Dearne, Rotherham
Details: Experience the exhilaration of a cold water dip. Imagine the thrill of stepping into icy waters, the rush of adrenaline and the camaraderie of fellow plungers - all while supporting a charitable cause. We are working with experts from The Breath Connection to bring you this chilly challenge. 

You will learn the art of cold water dipping, breath work and the wellbeing benefits of cold water. There’s no swimming involved. The event is suitable for those with a disability – please just get in touch with us beforehand to discuss how we can support you. 

We believe that bravery deserves recognition - hot drinks and certificates await our boldest plungers. So, gather your friends, form a team and let's see who can make the biggest splash.

It costs £25 to take part and we’d like participants to raise a minimum of £50. 

Please encourage your friends, family and colleagues to take the plunge with you too! The minimum age is 18 and we need to review any long term health conditions you may have with Miranda and San at The Breath Connection beforehand.

Christmas Wreath Making Workshop

Date: Tuesday 25 November 2025
Time: 5pm to 8pm
Location: Pausa Cafe, Dunelm, Rotherham, S60 2XL
Details: Join us in celebrating the festive season, coming together to spread joy and goodwill, with a dash of creativity. Our popular Christmas Wreath Making Workshop, hosted in collaboration with hospital-based florists Floral Expressions, is back for 2025 - you can embrace the spirit of Christmas and make a wreath to be proud of, all while supporting a fantastic charity. It's a great opportunity to come along with your family, friends or colleagues to make something unique to you, ready for the festive season. Coffee and mince pies are provided for that extra special festive feeling.

£40 per person.

Skydive

Date: Saturday 11 April 2026, Sunday 27 September 2026
Location: Skydive Hibaldstow, North Lincolnshire
Details: We're looking for daredevils to take fundraising to new heights by joining our official skydiving team.

Your skydive will cost you £249. You can reserve your place with a £75 non-refundable deposit.

The sky is the limit - you can raise as much as possible, but we'd like you to raise a minimum of £200.

Deposits can be paid by bank transfer, cheque or paid in person. Read our 'Make a donation' page for details.

Christmas Fair

Date: Thursday 27 November
Location: Rotherham Hospital's main entrance 
Time: 10am to 3pm 
Details: Get ready to step into the festive spirit at our 2025 Christmas Fair! Bring along your family, friends and plenty of Christmas cheer for a day full of festive fun, including:

  • A special visit from Santa
  • Joyful carol singing to set the scene
  • Festive stalls with gifts and treats
  • A Christmas tombola with plenty of prizes
  • A visit from our much-loved Dr Ted

Every pound raised will go directly to our Dementia Appeal, helping us provide the very best care and support for our patients and their families.

Book sales

Location: Main entrance, Rotherham Hospital

Our dedicated volunteers regularly hold book sales in the main entrance of Rotherham Hospital.
